The organizers of the project plan to present eight installations, which approach the electronics in various ways. They wish to present the great opportunities of individual and personal use of electronic techniques, which are popularily known of their single functions. This aspect seems especially pertinent for younger public, whose opinions are in teh process of being shaped. We hope to impress their imagination and creativity.
The international conference under the subject of Art and Science in teh Age of Electronic Communication and giving the name to this year's edition of LAB, which is a part of the series organized by several art magazines and theoreticians from Poland, Italy, Austria and Czech Republic, and taking place at the premises of the Ujazdowski Castle on the 20 and 21 of March is going to be nother extremely important event accompanying the exhibition.
LAB is a biennial exhibition of multimedia art organized at the Center every two years since 1987 and curated by Ryszard W. Kluszczyński, a theoretician and curator of world renown, a professor of Lodz University and author of multiple art publications. He leads Center's Media Art Laboratory, a department dealing with film, video and electronica arts. The artists participating in the previous LAB are such personalities as Simon Biggs, Christian Boltanski, Lynn Hershmann, Dalibor Marinis and many others.
